Legal Genie™ is a simple, affordable and reliable online service created by Legal Aid Society of Orange County. It is designed for people who do not qualify for legal aid and cannot afford the services of an attorney. It asks simple questions and puts answers on the forms in the correct place.

Legal Genie™ is different from other services because it connects you to a licensed attorney on our Lawyers Referral Service panel. The LRS attorney will give you telephone consultations, review your documents and give you legal advice. Legal Genie™ combines the magic of technology with the help of a professional at a price you can afford.
 HOW LEGAL GENIE™ WORKS
Create Your Paperwork
Start using Legal Genie™ by creating a username and password. You can come back to Legal Genie™ at any time and make changes using your password. Once you have answered all the questions, you can view your forms and make any changes you want to make. Enter your payment information to print your forms.
 
Get Your Attorney Consultation by Phone
When you are ready, Legal Genie™ will send your paperwork and contact information to our Lawyers Referral Service (LRS) attorney for review. The LRS attorney will contact you to discuss your paperwork and make recommendations for your specific case. Each Legal Genie™ package comes with telephone consultation(s)* of up to 30 minutes each with a licensed attorney.
*Number of consultations varies with package purchased.
 
You File Your Paperwork with the Court
After your consultation with the LRS attorney, you may then use Legal Genie™ to make final updates and print your revised forms. Each Legal Genie™ package comes with telephone consultation(s) of up to 30 minutes each with a licensed attorney.

WHO CREATED LEGAL GENIE™?
Legal Genie™ is was created by the Legal Aid Society of Orange County (LASOC), a 501(c)(3) California non-profit corporation which was established by the Orange County Bar Association in 1958.
Each year, LASOC’s Hotline receives more than 30,000 calls, but approximately half of these callers are turned away because their incomes exceed our guidelines. LASOC created Legal Genie™ to solve this problem. Legal Genie™ helps self-represented litigants who do not qualify for legal aid and cannot afford the services of a private attorney.
